The Heights of Abraham

The Heights of Abraham consists of a hilltop park on top of Masson Hill, accessed from the village by the Heights of Abraham cable car. Amongst the attractions in the park, which has been open since Victorian times, are cavern and mine tours. There are also views of the dramatic scenery of the valley of the River Derwent. Haddon Hall

Haddon Hall is a medieval manor house originally dating from the 11th century with significant remodelling in the Tudor Style. The house is available to visit as are its surrounding ‘medieval park’. The house is easily reachable by bus from Marlock or Bakewell and taxis are available from these and other surrounding towns. Alton Towers Resort and Theme Park

Alton Towers is one of Britain’s most loved theme parks. Located around the historic 14th Century towers the resort includes several themes hotels, woodland lodges and luxury treehouses as well as stargazing pods. The theme park includes several thrilling rides including the Toxicator, Nemesis and Smiler. There is also an extensive offering of attractions for younger visitors. Coaches to the park are available from many major towns. The closest rail stations are Uttoxeter, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and Matlock. Standard parking is charged at £12 per vehicle.
